French National Institute of Health and Medical Research establishes first Asian base in Tokyo
The French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM) opened its Asia representative office within the French Embassy in Tokyo on the 2nd. INSERM is a French public institution that conducts research on medicine and health, and this office marks its first base in the Asian region.
The primary purpose of this office is to deepen cooperation in medical research between Japan and France. Both countries face the common challenge of an aging society, and it is hoped that by collaborating in the fields of health and medicine, they will find better solutions.
Specifically, the office will strengthen partnerships with Japanese universities and research institutions in fields such as cancer research, brain science, and infectious disease control. The goal is to accelerate the development of new treatments and drugs by increasing exchanges between experts.
With the opening of this base, scientific and technological cooperation between Japan and France will advance further. It is expected that researchers from both countries will work together to make new discoveries that will help protect the health of people around the world.
