List of "Security Family Doctors" to Protect Medical Institutions Released
Health ISAC Japan, an organization that supports cybersecurity in the medical field, announced a new initiative on the 13th. It involves the publication of a list of "security family doctor" services designed to help medical institutions use IT with peace of mind.
In recent years, cyberattacks targeting hospitals and clinics have been on the rise, with damages such as the leakage of medical data and system outages becoming major issues. However, many medical institutions lack IT personnel with specialized knowledge, making it difficult for them to implement adequate security measures.
The newly released list compiles companies and experts capable of providing specialized support for the security measures of medical institutions. This will allow hospitals to easily find consultants that match their specific needs.
True to the name "security family doctor," the initiative aims to create a system where medical institutions can immediately consult with experts when they encounter IT troubles or have security concerns, much like visiting a doctor when feeling unwell.
The publication of this list is expected to make cybersecurity measures more accessible and robust for medical institutions across Japan. It marks an important step toward safeguarding the safety of the medical front line.
