Taiwan's National Day Reception Held in Tokyo, Hopes for Deepening Japan-Taiwan Relations
In early October, a ceremony was held in Tokyo to celebrate the "National Day" of the Republic of China (Taiwan). This event is held annually to commemorate Taiwan's national founding day.
More than 1,000 people attended this year's ceremony. Among them were 188 members of the Japanese Diet from both ruling and opposition parties, once again demonstrating the depth of exchange between Japan and Taiwan.
The venue also brought together representatives from countries that maintain diplomatic relations with Taiwan, as well as envoys from countries with similar values. Participants exchanged views on the friendly relations between Taiwan and their respective nations.
Mr. Lee, Taiwan's representative to Japan, stated his strong hope that the cooperative relationship between Japan and Taiwan will continue to deepen in the future. Japan and Taiwan share close ties in many areas, including economy and culture, and this ceremony served as an opportunity to reaffirm those bonds.
