Connecting Overseas IT and AI Talent with Japanese Companies: Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Internship Seminar Held
The Japan Association of New Economy (JANE) held an online seminar aimed at acquiring overseas science and engineering talent active in fields such as IT, AI, and semiconductors. The seminar provided a detailed introduction on how to utilize the "Global South – Japan Tech Talent Internship Program" promoted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
Currently, the Japanese IT industry is facing a shortage of personnel with advanced specialized knowledge, making the acquisition of excellent talent from overseas a critical issue. In particular, attention is focused on young engineers from Global South countries, which are experiencing remarkable economic growth, and there are high expectations for matching them with Japanese companies.
During the seminar, the specific procedures for accepting students into Japan through the internship program and the benefits of the system that companies should be aware of were explained. Participating company representatives eagerly learned practical advice for recruiting overseas talent.
JANE intends to continue its policy recommendations and corporate support activities to promote the development of e-business and the IT industry. Through this initiative, it is hoped that Japanese companies will enhance their global technological competitiveness and that an environment where diverse talent can thrive will be established.
