Japan Men's Sevens National Team Candidates to Hold Training Camp in Fukuoka
The Japan Rugby Football Union has announced that the Men's Sevens Development Squad (SDS) will hold a training camp in Fukuoka Prefecture. This camp aims to elevate the skill levels of players aspiring to represent Japan in the future.
Promising players selected from across the country will participate in this camp. The roster includes athletes such as Toyoma Shiwaike of the Osaka Prefectural Police Rugby Club, and these young players are scheduled to hone their abilities through rigorous training.
Sevens rugby is a sport that demands high speed and endurance, as fewer players must cover a larger field compared to traditional rugby. In this Fukuoka camp, the focus will be on reviewing tactics and strengthening physical conditioning, with the goal of deepening team coordination.
Developing the next generation of national team players is a key priority for the Japanese rugby community. It is hoped that the players who grow through this camp will excel in future international tournaments and further energize the sport of rugby in Japan.
