Taiwan's TPP marks 7th anniversary, emphasizes cooperation with KMT for November elections
Taiwan's second-largest opposition party, the Taiwan People's Party (TPP), celebrated its 7th anniversary this month. To mark the occasion, a party convention and commemorative event were held on the 2nd in Taichung, located in the central part of the country. Many party members and supporters gathered at the event, once again demonstrating the party's unity.
During the event, TPP Chairman Huang Kuo-chang spoke about the party's future political direction. Of particular note is the local mayoral and county magistrate election scheduled for November 28. Chairman Huang expressed his intention to work closely with the main opposition party, the Kuomintang (KMT), to secure victory in these elections.
This cooperation is aimed at countering the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP). In Taiwanese politics, opposition parties joining forces to contest elections could have a significant impact on future parliamentary operations and policy decision-making.
The TPP has been gaining support, particularly among young people. With the 7th anniversary as a turning point, attention is focused on how much the party can increase its presence and how many seats it can secure in the November elections. Many citizens are watching closely to see how the future political landscape of Taiwan will change.
