Four Organizations Hold Joint Seminar to Support Japanese Companies' Expansion into Africa
Four organizations—JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization), JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency), UNDP (United Nations Development Programme), and UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization)—held a joint seminar to support Japanese companies in entering the African market. This event, titled "The New Market is in Africa," was held for the first time.
In recent years, Africa has become a market attracting global attention due to its rapid population growth and economic development. However, for many Japanese companies, doing business in Africa is often still perceived as a high hurdle. During this seminar, the current state of the African market and practical tips for business success were shared.
At the seminar, case studies of companies actually operating in Africa were presented, and expert commentary on the local business environment was provided. Participating corporate representatives learned about Africa's growth potential and deepened their understanding of how to build local networks and manage risks.
The four organizing institutions plan to continue strengthening their collaboration to support Japanese companies in finding new business opportunities in Africa. As interest in the African market grows, there are high expectations for how Japanese companies will succeed in the region moving forward.
