Taxi App 'GO' and 'NAVITIME' Collaborate to Make Travel More Convenient for International Visitors to Japan
The widely used Japanese taxi-hailing app 'GO' and the navigation app for international tourists, 'Japan Travel by NAVITIME,' have launched a collaboration. Through this partnership, international tourists visiting Japan will be able to hail a taxi directly from within the transit navigation app.
Previously, calling a taxi in Japan required downloading a dedicated app separately. However, with the launch of this service, users can now seamlessly arrange a taxi immediately after searching for their travel routes. A key feature is that it supports multiple languages, including English, allowing users to utilize the service without facing language barriers.
In recent years, the number of international tourists visiting Japan has been recovering rapidly, making the securing of transportation options, including in regional areas, a significant challenge. Taxis are an especially convenient mode of transport for tourists in areas with limited public transit or for those carrying large luggage. This initiative aims to enhance convenience for such tourists and provide a more comfortable travel experience.
This new feature is already available in major tourist destinations. Plans are in place to further expand the target areas, with the goal of creating an environment where taxis can be easily hailed anywhere in Japan. This collaboration, which leverages technology, marks a significant step forward for Japan's tourism industry.
