AI to be Introduced to Government Statistics Site for Quick and Accurate Data Searches
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has announced that it will introduce new AI (artificial intelligence) features to "e-Stat," the portal site that consolidates government statistical data, starting next fiscal year. This feature will allow users to input the information they are looking for, and the AI will then locate the accurate statistical data.
Currently, the internet is overflowing with information, which includes incorrect or outdated data. As a result, there has been a challenge in that it takes time for users to find the specific statistical data they need on their own.
The newly introduced AI will play a role similar to that of a "librarian." By having the AI select and present accurate data, it will prevent the risk of users believing incorrect information and enable them to utilize statistics more efficiently.
Through this initiative, it is expected that even those without specialized knowledge will be able to use government statistics more easily. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications intends to continue utilizing digital technology to aim for administrative services that are user-friendly for the public.
