METI strengthens recruitment of STEM talent in India, Tech Japan joins the program
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has launched a new program called "GS-Japan Tech Talent Internship" to invite outstanding STEM talent from Global South countries to Japan. Tech Japan, a company that supports the recruitment of international talent, will participate in this initiative.
This program is being advanced with a particular focus on India as a key hub. India produces a large number of highly skilled professionals in the fields of IT, AI, and semiconductors globally, and establishing connections with top-tier Indian students and engineers is essential for Japanese companies to enhance their competitiveness in these sectors.
Leveraging its experience, Tech Japan will play the role of connecting Japanese companies with Indian STEM students. Through internships, students will be able to experience Japanese corporate culture and technology, while Japanese companies will be provided with opportunities to meet talent with a global perspective.
The program aims to accelerate the growth of Japan's IT, AI, and semiconductor industries. Moving forward, there are plans to expand the scope beyond India to other Global South countries, creating an environment where Japanese companies can thrive on the global stage.
