Ukraine Recovery Conference Opens in Poland, Over €10 Billion in Contracts to be Signed
The Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC) has opened in Poland. This is a significant international meeting aimed at rebuilding Ukraine's economy and infrastructure, which have suffered extensive damage due to the war with Russia. Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister Svyrydenko expressed her expectations that the conference will facilitate concrete support for reconstruction.
On the 25th, Svyrydenko revealed that contracts worth more than 10 billion euros (approximately 1.6 trillion yen) are expected to be signed during the conference. These contracts cover a wide range of sectors directly linked to the lives of the citizens, such as the repair of energy facilities, the development of transportation networks, and the construction of housing.
In addition to government officials from around the world, many private companies and international organizations are participating in this conference. Since the reconstruction of Ukraine requires a vast amount of funding, attracting private investment alongside government support has become a major challenge. The contracts exceeding 10 billion euros represent a significant step toward this goal.
The Ukrainian government intends to utilize these funds with transparency to accelerate the nation's recovery. Despite the difficult circumstances as the war continues, reconstruction projects carried out in cooperation with the international community are expected to become a powerful force supporting Ukraine's future.
