Taxi app 'GO' and 'NAVITIME' partner to make travel easier for international visitors to Japan
The taxi dispatch app 'GO' and the tourist information app for international visitors, 'Japan Travel by NAVITIME,' have launched a partnership. This initiative will allow foreign visitors to Japan to book taxis more smoothly.
Previously, Japanese taxi apps were primarily designed for operation in Japanese, posing a challenge for international tourists. With this partnership, the functionality to call a taxi from one's current location will be directly available within the 'Japan Travel by NAVITIME' app.
This new feature supports English, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), and Korean. Users can complete everything from searching for routes to their destination to booking a taxi within a single app, enabling them to travel without feeling the barrier of language.
According to the Japan National Tourism Organization, the number of international visitors to Japan is on an upward trend. This service partnership aims to improve the tourism experience in Japan by creating an environment where tourists can easily use not only public transportation but also taxis.
Moving forward, it is expected that efforts to leverage digital technology to enhance convenience for international tourists will continue to spread across Japan. By reducing the stress of travel, it is hoped that more tourists will be able to enjoy their stay in Japan.
