Dodgers eliminated in NLCS; World Series to be held without Japanese players for first time in three years
The Dodgers, winners of the Major League Baseball National League West, were defeated by the Brewers in the League Championship Series, missing out on a spot in the World Series. The Dodgers had been aiming for their third consecutive World Series title, but their challenge for this season has come to an end.
With this elimination, it has been decided that no Japanese players will participate in this year's World Series. Since teams featuring Japanese players had advanced to the World Series for the past two years, this is a somewhat disappointing result for Japanese baseball fans.
Throughout this season, the Dodgers attracted significant attention for their high-powered offense and strong pitching staff. However, they struggled against the Brewers' tenacious play in the League Championship Series and were unable to secure the necessary wins. The team will look to aim for the top once again heading into next season.
The World Series is the most anticipated major event in American professional baseball. While it is unfortunate that we will not see Japanese players in action, the intense games played by the world's top athletes are sure to captivate many baseball fans again this year.
