List of 'Security Family Doctors' Released to Prevent Cyberattacks on Medical Institutions
Health ISAC Japan, an information-sharing organization in the medical field, announced on the 13th that it has begun publishing a new service list. This list is referred to as "Security Family Doctors" and compiles companies that medical institutions can consult with for expert advice when facing issues such as cyberattacks.
In recent years, cyberattacks targeting hospitals and clinics in Japan have been on the rise, leading to major issues such as the leakage of patient personal information and the suspension of medical examination systems. However, a lack of IT personnel with specialized knowledge has been a challenge for many medical institutions.
The newly released list includes companies with security experts. By utilizing this list, medical institutions can quickly find a consultation partner that suits their facility. This is expected to speed up responses in the event of an emergency and minimize potential damage.
Through this initiative, Health ISAC Japan aims to strengthen support for safely advancing the digitalization of medical settings. Moving forward, there is a continued need to create an environment where medical institutions can use IT technology with peace of mind.
