Taiwanese Vice President Bi-khim Hsiao meets with Oita Prefecture Governor Sato, emphasizes friendly relations
Taiwanese Vice President Bi-khim Hsiao met with Governor Kiichiro Sato of Oita Prefecture, who is currently visiting Japan. During the meeting, the two sides discussed the long-standing and deep friendly relations between Taiwan and Oita Prefecture.
Vice President Hsiao stated that Taiwan and Japan are important partners that support each other. She particularly praised the cooperation with Oita Prefecture in many fields, such as tourism and the economy, noting that the relationship has been strengthening year by year.
Furthermore, Vice President Hsiao touched upon the episode that Governor Sato's mother was born in Taiwan. She mentioned that the Governor himself has a special connection to Taiwan and expressed her hope that this meeting would further deepen the bond between the two sides.
