For a Sustainable Future: Thinking about "Planetary Health" through Healthcare Policy
On August 18, 2026, the Health and Global Policy Institute held its second advisory board meeting on the theme of "Planetary Health." This project aims to realize a sustainable society based on the idea that the health of the global environment and the health of people are closely linked.
This meeting brought together experts from industry, government, academia, civil society organizations, and the youth generation who will lead the future. Leaders from diverse fields gathered to discuss concrete methods for protecting the global environment from the perspective of healthcare policy.
"Planetary Health" is the concept that if the Earth's natural environment is destroyed, our own health cannot be protected. During the meeting, there was a lively exchange of opinions regarding how climate change and environmental issues affect human health, as well as what measures are necessary in clinical settings.
This advisory board is held regularly on a quarterly basis. Through dialogue, the participants aim to build consensus and propose new policies to create a sustainable society.
Protecting the global environment leads to protecting our own health. Moving forward, this project will continue its efforts to build a better future from both medical and environmental perspectives.
