Taiwanese government donates approximately 25 million yen to support areas affected by the Kumamoto earthquake
Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 31st that it will donate 5 million New Taiwan dollars (approximately 25 million Japanese yen) to support the areas affected by the earthquake in Kumamoto Prefecture. This assistance aims to help the people in the affected regions rebuild their lives as quickly as possible.
The Taiwanese government has consistently provided prompt support whenever major disasters have occurred in Japan. This latest contribution reflects their deep concern for the situation in the affected areas and demonstrates the value they place on the friendly relationship with Japan. This warm support from Taiwan is expected to provide great encouragement to many of those affected.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has established a dedicated account to accept donations. This will allow Taiwanese citizens to provide direct support to the affected areas. This fundraising campaign is scheduled to continue moving forward.
This relief effort has once again highlighted the strong bond between Japan and Taiwan. While the recovery of the affected areas is expected to take time, such international cooperation will serve as a pillar of support for the people in the impacted regions.
