Male Menopause Becomes a New Challenge for Japanese Companies; Economic Losses Estimated at 1.2 Trillion Yen
In recent years, "male menopause" has been gaining attention as a major management challenge for Japanese companies. According to expert estimates, there are approximately 6 million people in Japan who may be suffering from late-onset hypogonadism (LOH syndrome).
Calculations suggest that the economic loss resulting from this issue reaches approximately 1.2 trillion yen annually. Menopause can cause symptoms such as fatigue, depression, and a decline in concentration, which can negatively impact work performance.
In particular, when men in responsible positions, such as managers, suffer from these symptoms, it leads to "invisible losses" for companies. While male menopause has not been discussed openly in the past, the importance of companies supporting the health of their employees is now increasing.
In response to this situation, new services are being launched to provide consultation and support for countermeasures regarding male menopause for businesses. Creating an environment where employees can remain healthy and continue working for a long time will become an increasingly important endeavor for companies in the future.
