China Officially Begins Use of Independently Developed High-Performance Racing Gasoline
China's independently researched and developed "103-octane" racing gasoline officially went into use in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on May 16. The debut of this new fuel is drawing attention as a significant milestone for China's energy technology and motorsports industry.
The octane rating is a numerical value indicating a gasoline's resistance to abnormal combustion (knocking) within an engine. The higher this value, the more an engine's performance can be maximized. The "103" rating announced this time is exceptionally high, offering the optimal quality required for racing cars that demand speed and power.
Until now, such high-performance racing gasoline partially relied on foreign technology. However, by achieving the capability to handle everything from research to production domestically, China can now ensure a stable supply. This demonstrates that China's petrochemical technology has reached a world-class level.
Following this official launch in Xinjiang, this gasoline is scheduled to be used in various racing competitions across China. It is expected that the widespread adoption of this new fuel will further energize the Chinese motorsports scene and accelerate the development of automotive-related technologies.
