Taiwan's TPP Marks 7th Anniversary, Emphasizes Cooperation with KMT for November Elections
Taiwan's second-largest opposition party, the Taiwan People's Party (TPP), celebrated its 7th anniversary this month. To commemorate the occasion, the party held its national convention and anniversary events in Taichung City, central Taiwan, on the 2nd.
Incumbent party leader Huang Kuo-chang spoke at the venue regarding future activities. Of particular note are the movements toward the mayoral and county magistrate elections scheduled for November 28.
Chairman Huang clarified his intention to cooperate closely with the main opposition party, the Kuomintang (KMT), in the upcoming elections. By forming an alliance, the TPP and the KMT are strengthening their stance against the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
Many party members and supporters gathered at the convention to solidify their unity ahead of the elections. Attention is now focused on how this cooperation between opposition parties will impact Taiwan's political landscape and what results it will yield.
