Taiwanese military conducts defense exercises simulating an invasion of outlying islands
The Taiwanese armed forces began their "Joint Defense Exercises" across the country on the 13th. These exercises aim to strengthen the military's defensive capabilities amid an increasingly severe security environment surrounding Taiwan.
As part of these exercises, the Second Theater of Operations, which is responsible for the defense of the eastern region, conducted training based on a scenario where an enemy invades an outlying island. During this training, tactics were verified to quickly detect enemy movements and prevent them from landing.
Military tensions around Taiwan have been rising in recent years, increasing the importance of such exercises. The goal of this training is to improve the defensive capabilities of regions such as Hualien and Taitung counties and to establish a system that can respond rapidly in the event of an emergency.
A military spokesperson stated that they will continue to conduct training on an ongoing basis and strive to strengthen the defense system. To maintain regional stability, the Taiwanese military intends to remain on high alert.
