Siemens MRI System Becomes World's First Medical Device to Receive ENERGY STAR Certification
Medical technology company Siemens Healthineers has announced that its 1.5-tesla MRI system, the "MAGNETOM Flow.Elite," has received ENERGY STAR certification, an international standard for environmental performance.
ENERGY STAR is an international certification program awarded to products with high energy efficiency. While it has previously been applied to many household appliances and similar products, this marks the first time in the world that a medical diagnostic imaging device has received this certification.
MRI systems have traditionally faced the challenge of high power consumption required to perform examinations. The newly certified device utilizes the latest technology to significantly improve energy efficiency, which is expected to contribute to reducing hospital operating costs and lowering environmental impact.
Achieving this certification represents a major step forward in promoting sustainability within the medical field. It is anticipated that the development of environmentally friendly medical devices will continue to accelerate globally in the future.
