Taxi app 'GO' and 'NAVITIME' partner to make travel more convenient for visitors to Japan
GO Inc., the operator of the taxi dispatch app 'GO,' and NAVITIME Japan, a provider of navigation services, announced on July 8 that they will be collaborating on a new feature. This partnership will allow users to call a taxi directly from 'Japan Travel by NAVITIME,' a navigation app designed for international tourists visiting Japan.
Until now, calling a taxi has often been difficult for tourists visiting Japan due to language barriers and unfamiliarity with how to use local apps. With this new integration, tourists will be able to seamlessly search for routes to their destinations and arrange for a taxi all within the navigation app they are already accustomed to using.
When a destination is searched in 'Japan Travel by NAVITIME,' a taxi dispatch button will appear. Pressing this button links to the 'GO' app, allowing users to call a taxi from their current location. This will enable travelers to move around with peace of mind, even when carrying heavy luggage or when in areas with limited public transportation.
According to the Japan National Tourism Organization, the number of foreigners visiting Japan is increasing year by year, making the provision of comfortable transportation options a key priority. The launch of this service is expected not only to enhance convenience for tourists but also to improve access to various tourist destinations and contribute to the revitalization of the tourism industry.
This new feature is already available in select areas. The service area is scheduled to be expanded sequentially in the future. By providing a more stress-free travel experience for international visitors, it is believed that tourism in Japan will become even more appealing.
