Taiwanese Military to Conduct First 'Joint Defense Exercise' Starting the 13th
Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense has announced that it will conduct its first-ever "Joint Defense Exercise" over a five-day period from the 13th to the 17th of this month. This exercise was planned in response to changes in the security environment surrounding Taiwan.
According to military officials, this exercise simulates an emergency scenario in which enemy forces launch an attack toward Taiwan and enter its territorial waters. The Taiwanese military plans to verify how its land, sea, and air forces can coordinate to carry out a defense.
For Japan, the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait are extremely important. As such, there is a high level of interest within Japan regarding the developments of this exercise.
Through this exercise, the Taiwanese military aims to improve its defense capabilities and strengthen coordination between its units. Continued attention is focused on how the results of this five-day exercise will impact the future situation in the region.
