Support for Cyberattack Countermeasures in Medical Institutions: "Security Family Doctor" List Published
Health ISAC Japan, an information-sharing organization in the medical field, announced on the 13th that it has published a list of "Security Family Doctor" services for medical institutions. This initiative aims to protect the safety of medical settings amid the rising risk of cyberattacks.
In recent years, cyberattacks such as ransomware targeting hospitals and clinics have been increasing in Japan. Because medical institutions handle a large amount of patient personal information and medical records, a system shutdown can have a significant impact on the provision of medical care.
The list published this time compiles companies and experts capable of providing specialized support for the security measures of medical institutions. This makes it possible for hospitals that lack IT specialists to easily find reliable consultants.
Health ISAC Japan intends to improve the security level of the entire industry by enabling medical institutions to choose appropriate experts according to their own circumstances. The organization states that it will continue to provide support to protect the safety of medical settings in the future.
