Large-scale defense exercises held in Taiwan; armored vehicles deployed in Taipei
The Taiwanese military conducted the third day of its "integrated defense exercises" in the early hours of the 15th. This training is aimed at protecting the safety of Taipei City, which serves as Taiwan's political center.
Numerous "Cloud Leopard" armored vehicles, developed independently by Taiwan, were utilized in this exercise. The vehicles were deployed in the area ranging from around the Presidential Office Building to the Ministry of National Defense, confirming defense capabilities in the event of an emergency.
Military tensions are rising around Taiwan, and these exercises are positioned as critical training to protect central institutions in the event of a contingency. By conducting these movements late at night, the military aimed to minimize the impact on citizens' daily lives while maintaining a format close to real combat.
Taiwan's defense posture is also a matter of significant security interest for Japan. Much attention continues to be focused on the situation surrounding Taiwan and the movements of its military.
