New ETF Specialized in Japanese General Trading Companies and Resource Businesses to be Listed
Global X Japan Co., Ltd., an asset management company, has announced the launch of a new ETF (Exchange Traded Fund) targeting Japanese general trading companies and resource businesses. This new product will provide a new option for those looking to invest in key Japanese industries.
The "Sogo Shosha" (general trading companies) that this ETF focuses on are known as a business model unique to Japan. Major trading companies such as Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsui & Co. operate a wide range of businesses worldwide, including energy, food, and metals. Recently, these companies have been attracting significant interest from both domestic and international investors due to their stable profits.
The name of the new ETF is "Global X Sogo Shosha & Resource Business Japan Equity ETF." This product is designed to track the "Mirae Asset Japan Wholesale Trade & Resource Business Index." This allows investors to save the effort of selecting individual stocks and instead invest in multiple companies related to trading and resources all at once.
According to the released materials, the scheduled listing date for this ETF is July 30, 2026. With the introduction of an investment product specialized in a key sector supporting the Japanese economy, it is expected that the Japanese securities market will become even more active.
