AfD plans a radical restructuring of the state in Sachsen-Anhalt

The AfD in Sachsen-Anhalt announced a new government program that includes radical demands, covering teachers in schools, public media, and energy policies.

Ulrich Sigmund presents himself as a friendly face for the party seeking power. As a high-profile candidate, Sigmund appears as a modern political figure, active on social media, and highlights his closeness to the people during public appearances. He is followed by hundreds of thousands on TikTok and appears at campaign events with optimism and direct engagement with the audience.

But behind this calm appearance, the political documents that Sigmund intends to use in the regional election campaign reveal a vision for a comprehensive restructuring of the state.

Political scientist Oliver Limbke from Bochum sees the program as "an ideological statement aimed at achieving maximum distinction and political stimulation." He added that the program follows a clear logic: "Social diversity, institutional oversight, and constitutional commitments are considered obstacles and must be systematically reduced."

In the preamble of the program, AfD adopts a stark warning tone: "Continued mass immigration harms us, yet nothing changes except for weak announcements." The document accuses those who criticize these policies of defamation, stating literally: "If we do not allow ourselves to be harassed and attacked by migrants from all over the world in silence, we become 'xenophobic.'"
