Serial sex offender sentenced to four years for rape and sexual assaults
A 21-year-old man has been sentenced to four years in prison and mandatory psychiatric treatment (tbs) after being convicted of multiple sexual offenses, including three counts of rape, four sexual assaults, and indecent acts with a minor. The case was heard in the Amsterdam District Court.
Hisham A targeted women in public places such as train stations and stores, asking them for contact information and arranging meetings in cafes or cinemas. He then forced them to pay him money before coercing them into sexual acts in bathrooms. He also pressured many victims to transfer money to his bank account. The ages of the victims ranged from 14 to 24 years.
The court clarified that in every case, the defendant showed a clear refusal to accept the word 'no' as an answer. His direct and manipulative style also demonstrated a calculated pattern of predatory behavior, reflecting a deliberate disregard for women's feelings.
Although Hisham denied the charges of rape, he admitted to taking money from the victims and described himself as a "scoundrel" for exploiting them. The crimes occurred between 2021 and 2024, with part of them committed while he was still a minor, but the court found that juvenile penalties were not appropriate due to his repeated and deliberate targeting of new victims.
In addition to the prison sentence and psychological treatment, he must pay more than 35,000 euros in compensation to the victims and return the money he forced them to hand over during their meetings. The ruling emphasizes the seriousness of his crimes and the need for punishment and rehabilitation at the same time.
