A prominent Iranian figure rejects negotiations with the United States, challenging Trump.

One of Iran’s most powerful officials has ruled out any negotiations with the United States, directly contradicting claims from Washington that talks were imminent.

In a message published on the X platform, National Security Council Secretary-General علي لاريجاني stated that Tehran would not enter negotiations with Washington. He rejected reports suggesting he had contacted Oman to restart talks and accused دونالد ترامب of pushing the Middle East into chaos. He added that Iran did not start the war and would continue to defend itself.

The statement came after Trump claimed Iran was ready for dialogue. In an interview with The Atlantic, he said Tehran wanted to talk and that he had agreed to it. Trump also accused Iran of delaying too long, but gave no details about when or how negotiations might take place.

Following the assassination of Supreme Leader آية الله علي خامنئي, علي لاريجاني is seen as a central figure in Iran’s power structure. The Wall Street Journal reported that he had approached Oman, a previous mediator, to explore renewed talks with the United States over Iran’s controversial nuclear program.

Trump and Israeli Prime Minister بنيامين نتنياهو cited Iran’s nuclear activities as a key reason for their joint military action. Tehran has firmly denied that its nuclear program is aimed at developing weapons, insisting it is for peaceful purposes only.
