Tyrol: Police seize drugs worth 1.8 million euros

The Tyrol police carried out a large-scale operation against the drug scene in the region, arresting several dozen suspects over the past months. These arrests are the result of ongoing investigations targeting, according to authorities, key players in the drug trade.

According to officials, the operation also resulted in the seizure of drugs, cash, and other assets valued at approximately 1.8 million euros. These seizures are evidence of the scale of the network that was dismantled by the police.

The authorities have not yet provided precise details regarding the number of detainees, their nationalities, or the types of drugs that were seized. However, they confirmed that this campaign represents one of the most significant blows against organized crime in Tyrol this year.

The police announced that more details will be revealed at a press conference scheduled for Thursday morning, where Helmut Tomak, the state police chief, and Philip Rabolt, the deputy head of the state criminal police office, will present the results.

These arrests and seizures are seen as a clear step by the Tyrolean authorities to disrupt organized smuggling networks in the region, with the operation described as a significant move to weaken the networks that fuel drug trafficking in Austria.
