Two people injured after a gunman fired at a car and a house in Rotterdam
Two people were injured in a shooting incident on Friday night in the Katendrecht neighborhood of Rotterdam, where a car and a house were shot at. The police confirmed that they arrested three suspects: a 50-year-old man, a 27-year-old man from Rotterdam, and a 28-year-old man without a fixed address.
Gunfire erupted near Walhallalaan, where an armed man shot at a white car before fleeing towards Brede Hilledijk. Local media reported that the incident caused panic in the area after several gunshots were heard.
When the officers arrived, the victims had already left the scene. Authorities believe they went to the hospital on their own for treatment. During the incident, a bullet struck a window of a first-floor house, but no additional injuries were reported.
After the gunfire, armed special forces from the Dienst Speciale Interventies (DSI) cordoned off a house in Buizenpark believed to be linked to the suspects. The police closely monitored the site before carrying out a raid.
Despite the raid being carried out, authorities have not yet clarified whether additional arrests were made or if evidence was found. The investigation into the shooting incident in Rotterdam is still ongoing.
