Iranian man threatens gas station employees: Two injured in knife attack
Two men were injured during a violent confrontation at a gas station in Linz late Friday night after a man armed with a weapon threatened the staff and caused chaos inside the place.
The police reported that a 38-year-old Iranian man entered the gas station despite a ban on his presence there. As soon as he entered, he pulled out a small knife and threatened to kill two employees, leading to a rapid and dangerous escalation of the situation.
A 30-year-old employee acted in self-defense using a broomstick to fend off the attacker and prevent a direct assault. During the struggle, the suspect was injured while attempting to subdue him.
An Afghan employee was also injured slightly by a knife while trying to restrain the attacker. Authorities reported that seven people participated in an attempt to close in on the suspect or force him to flee, around midnight.
In the end, the police arrested the man. During the investigation, he admitted to regularly using heroin. After consulting with the public prosecutor's office, he was transferred to Linz prison to complete the legal proceedings.
