Malaysian Dental Association Supports Expansion of Peka B40 Scheme
The Malaysian Dental Association (MDA) recently expressed its full support for the proposal to include dental care services in the Peka B40 scheme. This move is seen as a crucial effort to improve health access for the underprivileged in Malaysia.
Dr. Chong Zhen Feng, a representative from the MDA, explained that access to quality dental treatment remains a challenge for many Malaysians. He believes that by including these services in Peka B40, more individuals from low-income families will have the opportunity to receive basic treatments such as check-ups, fillings, and tooth extractions.
Furthermore, the MDA emphasized that good oral health is closely linked to overall physical health. Untreated dental problems can lead to more serious health complications in the future. Therefore, this initiative not only helps alleviate the financial burden on the people but can also reduce the burden on the public health system in the long run.
the association also hopes that the government will examine this proposal in greater depth to ensure its smooth implementation. They suggest collaboration between the public and private sectors to ensure that these dental services can reach rural and remote areas.
In conclusion, this support from the MDA is a positive step towards a more inclusive healthcare system. If this proposal is accepted, it will provide significant benefits to the well-being of Malaysians, especially the B40 group who require more comprehensive health assistance.
