Public Advised to Reduce Outdoor Activities Due to Haze
Health authorities in Sabah have issued an important advisory to the public to reduce physical activities in open areas. This measure was taken following the haze conditions affecting several areas in the state, which could impact air quality and the health of residents.
The public, especially high-risk groups such as children, the elderly, and those with respiratory problems, are urged to be more cautious. High-intensity sports or exercise activities usually performed outdoors should be reduced or temporarily postponed until air quality improves.
If outdoor activities cannot be avoided, authorities suggest moving them to more suitable indoor locations with good ventilation. This step is crucial to avoid direct exposure to haze particles, which can cause irritation to the eyes, nose, and throat.
Furthermore, residents are advised to constantly monitor the latest updates regarding air quality status through official government channels. The public is also encouraged to drink plenty of plain water and wear face masks if it is necessary to be outdoors to protect their own health and that of their families.
