55 Malaysians in Nepal Unreachable Following Floods
A total of 55 Malaysians have reportedly been unreachable by the Embassy of Malaysia in Kathmandu, Nepal. This situation follows the major floods and landslides that recently struck the country.
The embassy is making every effort to locate and determine the condition of all the Malaysians involved. As of now, there have been no confirmed reports of casualties or injuries involving Malaysian citizens by the authorities.
The floods in Nepal have caused severe damage to road infrastructure and disrupted communication lines in several areas. Unpredictable weather conditions are hindering rescue teams from conducting search and rescue missions more swiftly.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia advises all Malaysians currently in Nepal to remain vigilant and comply with the instructions of local authorities. They are also requested to immediately report their presence to the Embassy of Malaysia in Kathmandu to facilitate assistance.
Members of the public who have family members in Nepal are asked to remain calm while the embassy continues to monitor the situation from time to time. Further updates will be provided by the government as soon as contact with all the individuals has been successfully established.
