Malaysia Needs to Strengthen Relations and Understanding of the African Continent
Malaysia is now advised to increase its efforts in understanding the dynamics of the African continent more deeply. Although diplomatic relations have been established for decades, experts believe that Malaysia still lacks a comprehensive strategy to leverage the vast potential in the region.
The African continent currently consists of 54 countries with a total population exceeding 1.4 billion people. The diversity in terms of politics, economy, and social structure there offers vast opportunities, but it also requires a specific and careful approach from Malaysia.
Currently, the relationship between Malaysia and African countries is seen as not yet reaching an optimal level. A lack of information and deep understanding of the local markets and cultures there are among the main challenges hindering closer economic cooperation.
Therefore, Malaysia needs to formulate a clearer action plan to engage with the continent. This step is essential to ensure that Malaysia can compete globally and build mutually beneficial partnerships with African countries in the future.
