Indian NGOs Meet Bersama Leaders to Discuss Future of the Community
A coalition consisting of 19 Indian non-governmental organizations (NGOs) held an official meeting with the joint leaders of the Bersama party, Rafizi Ramli and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad. This meeting aimed to discuss the importance of Indian voter support and the future direction of the community within the national political agenda.
During the discussion, representatives from the NGOs emphasized the urgent need for the Bersama party to provide a long-term commitment to the issues faced by the Indian community in Malaysia. They hope that the party can formulate a clearer action plan to address the economic and social problems plaguing this community.
Furthermore, the NGOs asserted that the voting power of the Indian community is a significant factor that can influence the current political landscape. Therefore, they urged the party leadership to pay more serious attention to ensuring that the welfare and rights of the Indian community continue to be upheld in government policies.
Rafizi Ramli and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad listened to the views presented by the NGO representatives. This meeting is seen as an initial step toward building a closer relationship between political parties and civil society organizations in an effort to find inclusive solutions for all Malaysians.
Overall, this dialogue reflects the ongoing efforts of various parties to ensure that the voice of every community in Malaysia is heard. It is hoped that the commitments discussed in this meeting can be translated into practical steps that will benefit the Indian community in the future.
