UniMAP Targets 80 Percent of Teaching Staff to Hold Doctoral Degrees
Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) has set a new target to empower the quality of higher education at the institution. The university aims for 80 percent of its academic teaching staff to hold a doctoral degree or an equivalent qualification.
This step is taken to ensure that the standards of teaching and research at UniMAP remain at a more competitive level. By having more highly qualified lecturers, the university hopes to improve its academic reputation as well as the quality of graduates produced for the future job market.
Furthermore, increasing the number of academic staff with doctoral degrees is also in line with the nation's aspiration to produce more experts in various technical and scientific fields. This effort is expected to further strengthen UniMAP's position as one of the excellent public universities in Malaysia.
The university management will provide the necessary support to help academic staff reach this target. This includes opportunities for further studies and continuous professional development programs to ensure that the objective can be achieved within the stipulated period.
Overall, this initiative is a positive step in elevating the nation's higher education. With a focus on the quality of teaching staff, UniMAP is committed to continuing its contribution to the development of highly skilled human capital in Malaysia.
