Malaysia Airlines Returns to Busan and Firefly Network Expansion

Malaysia Airlines will resume direct flight services to Busan, South Korea, starting December 2, 2026. This strategic move aims to reconnect the capital city of Kuala Lumpur with South Korea's second-largest city, thereby enhancing tourism and business access between the two countries.

In addition to Malaysia Airlines, its subsidiary airline, Firefly, will also launch a new route to Kunming, China. This network expansion is part of Malaysia Aviation Group's (MAG) efforts to strengthen their position in the increasingly growing regional aviation market.

In a related development, MAG also plans to build a new catering facility to support their flight operations. This facility is expected to be fully completed by the fourth quarter of 2028 to ensure that the quality of in-flight food services can be improved.

These expansion efforts demonstrate the company's continuous commitment to increasing international connectivity for Malaysians. With these new routes, tourists and business travelers have more options for traveling to popular destinations in East Asia.
