Malaysia Sends SMART Team and Humanitarian Aid to Nepal
The Madani Government has decided to send the Special Malaysia Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (SMART) to Nepal to assist in search and rescue operations for flood victims in the country. This step was taken following the major floods that recently struck Nepal, causing severe damage and loss of life.
In addition to sending expert rescue teams, Malaysia is also contributing US$1 million in financial aid to the government of Nepal. This contribution is intended to ease the burden on affected victims and assist in the recovery efforts of the disaster-stricken areas.
The SMART team is internationally recognized for its expertise in handling emergency situations and natural disasters. The presence of this team in Nepal is expected to assist local authorities in accelerating the search process for victims who are still missing in areas that are difficult to access.
Malaysia's action reflects the country's commitment to supporting the international community during times of emergency. The close diplomatic relations between Malaysia and Nepal form the basis for this humanitarian cooperation to ensure that aid reaches those who truly need it.
Overall, this assistance is a manifestation of Malaysia's concern for global humanitarian crises. The government hopes that this effort will provide moral and physical support to the people of Nepal as they face this difficult period.
