Quality Standards Must Be Prioritized in Technology Adoption in Malaysia
Sabah Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Joachim Gunsalam, asserted that quality and standards cannot be compromised in the country's efforts to adopt new technology. He emphasized that while digital innovation is essential for economic progress, aspects of system security and efficiency remain top priorities to ensure that the benefits reach the people.
According to him, the public and private sectors in Malaysia must work closely together to ensure that every technology introduced complies with international standards. This step is crucial to avoid any system failures that could disrupt services to the public or cause losses to the industry.
Furthermore, Joachim stated that the local workforce must be provided with sufficient training to handle the latest technology. With the right skills, Malaysia can be competitive on the global stage and reduce reliance on foreign expertise in the long term.
In conclusion, the government is committed to continuing its support for digital transformation across the country. However, the emphasis on quality will remain a key pillar to ensure that the technological progress achieved is sustainable and safe for use by all levels of society in Malaysia.
