Families of Missing Malaysians in Nepal Demand Immediate Answers
An atmosphere of anxiety and sorrow surrounds the families of Malaysians who remain missing following the major floods that recently struck Nepal. To date, the families have expressed their frustration as they have yet to receive any updates regarding the fate of their loved ones trapped in the disaster-stricken areas.
The situation in Nepal is reported to be critical due to heavy rains that have caused flash floods and landslides in several tourist hotspots. Many hikers and tourists from around the world, including Malaysians, have lost contact with their families back home due to the destruction of communication infrastructure and roads.
The victims' families are now pleading with Malaysian authorities and the embassy to expedite search efforts and provide clearer information. They hope that the government can collaborate with local authorities in Nepal to ensure the safety of the Malaysians who are still there.
Meanwhile, Wisma Putra stated that they are closely monitoring the situation and are in constant contact with Nepalese authorities. Rescue efforts are being carried out in stages despite facing challenges from bad weather and areas that are difficult for rescue teams to access.
The public is advised to consistently follow official updates from the government and to refrain from spreading unverified information. The victims' families are currently only hoping for good news and prayers from all Malaysians so that the missing victims can be found safe.
