Malaysia Needs to Build Expertise in Quantum Technology Immediately
Malaysia is now being urged to start building capabilities in the field of quantum technology more seriously. This step is considered crucial to ensure the country does not fall behind in the rapidly evolving global technological competition of the future.
According to stakeholders, the main focus should be given to the development of local talent. Students and the workforce need to be given early exposure and specialized training so that they are prepared to handle this advanced technology when it begins to be used widely in the industry.
In addition to talent development, investment in research and development (R&D) is also a key pillar. This effort requires collaboration between the government, the private sector, and higher education institutions to create a robust innovation ecosystem to support the advancement of quantum technology in Malaysia.
Quantum technology is expected to bring major changes in various sectors, including cybersecurity, medicine, and computing. By starting preparations now, Malaysia has the opportunity to become one of the key players in this technology at the regional level.
In conclusion, building expertise in quantum technology is no longer an option, but a strategic necessity. Continued commitment from all parties will help Malaysia achieve its goal of becoming a competitive nation in the new digital era.
