Malaysia's Medical Device Exports to Brazil Surge
Malaysia's export sector has recorded positive development as the value of medical device exports to Brazil showed a significant increase this year. Based on the latest data, the total exports for the sector jumped by 66.1 percent in the first six months of 2026.
According to a report from the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), the value of medical device exports to the South American country reached RM109.1 million. This increase reflects the growing demand for Malaysian-made healthcare products in the international market.
This success demonstrates that the quality of Malaysian medical devices is increasingly recognized by foreign countries, including Brazil. These products encompass a wide range of equipment used in the healthcare sector, which has now become one of the important contributors to the national economy.
The government and relevant agencies continue to strive to further expand Malaysia's export market to the global level. With strong demand abroad, the medical device sector is expected to continue to grow and provide benefits to the country's economic growth in the future.
