Alliance Urges Strengthened Mental Health Support for Civil Servants
The Alliance for a Safe Community (Ikatan) has urged the government to pay more serious attention to the mental health levels among civil servants in Malaysia. This call follows reports indicating that 55,169 civil servants have been identified as facing mental health-related issues.
According to the Alliance, high workloads and workplace pressure are among the main factors contributing to this issue. They emphasized that compromised mental health not only affects individual well-being but can also impair the quality of services provided to the public.
To address this problem, the Alliance suggests that the government provide a more comprehensive support system. This includes more accessible counseling programs, stress management training, and the creation of a more positive and supportive work environment in every government department.
These proactive steps are considered essential to ensuring the welfare of civil servants is always maintained. With the right support, civil servants are expected to perform their duties more effectively and productively for the benefit of the nation.
In conclusion, the issue of mental health in the public sector requires immediate action from the authorities. It is hoped that these suggestions from the Alliance will be considered by the government in order to build a healthier and more excellent public service system.
