New MyKad with 53 Security Features to be Issued Starting Tomorrow
The National Registration Department (JPN) will begin issuing new MyKads equipped with 53 state-of-the-art security features starting tomorrow. This step is being taken to enhance the security level of Malaysian identification documents and to prevent identity fraud, which has become an increasing concern.
Among the key improvements introduced is the use of QR codes for faster verification and enforcement purposes. Additionally, the new card includes hologram technology, microtext, and ultraviolet security features that are difficult for irresponsible parties to replicate.
The use of this advanced technology aims to make it easier for authorities to conduct identity checks more effectively in the field. With these new features, the integrity of the MyKad as the nation's primary identification document will continue to be preserved against any threats of cybercrime or physical forgery.
However, the public does not need to feel anxious or rush to replace their existing identification cards. Old MyKads that are still in good condition and functioning perfectly can still be used as usual for daily affairs.
Overall, this initiative demonstrates the government's commitment to strengthening the national identity management system in line with the changing times. Citizens are advised to stay updated with official information from JPN to ensure that matters related to identification documents proceed smoothly.
