Sabah Needs to Upgrade Infrastructure Technology for Economic Progress
Sabah Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Joachim Gunsalam, emphasized that the state must immediately embrace and adapt to modern technology in infrastructure development. This step is considered crucial to ensure that Sabah can compete with other states and attract more foreign investment into the local economic sector.
According to him, the use of the latest technology in construction projects and utility management will help improve work efficiency. Furthermore, more sophisticated systems can reduce long-term costs and ensure that government projects are completed according to the set schedule for the benefit of the people.
Beyond construction, the integration of digital technology is also needed in the management of urban and rural areas. With smart infrastructure in place, the delivery of public services to the residents of Sabah will become faster and more effective, thereby improving the overall quality of life for the community.
The state government is currently working to collaborate with various private parties to bring in technical expertise. This effort aims to train the local workforce so that they are more skilled in operating the equipment and the latest technological systems used in the construction industry.
In conclusion, the transition toward infrastructure technology is an urgent necessity for Sabah. With solid support from all parties, the state is expected to be able to achieve more sustainable and modern economic progress in the future.
