Ministry of Health Increases Nurse Recruitment to Address Staff Shortages
The Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) has announced a new plan to increase nursing training capacity nationwide. This step is being taken to address the increasingly concerning issue of health staff shortages in public hospitals and clinics.
The ministry's main target is to increase the intake of nursing trainees to 5,500 people each year. This increase aims to ensure that the national health system has a sufficient workforce to meet the growing needs of patients.
In addition to increasing the number of trainees, the ministry will also improve career pathways for existing nurses. This effort is being made to ensure the nursing profession remains attractive and capable of retaining local talent in the public health sector.
This strategic move is expected to help reduce the workload of existing staff and improve the quality of health services in Malaysia. The ministry hopes that this initiative can be completed immediately to ensure the overall well-being of the people.
