Ministry of Health Receives Additional RM350 Million Allocation for Medical Record Digitization
The Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) recently received an additional allocation of RM350 million from the government. This addition brings the total allocation for the ministry to RM1 billion.
These additional funds are intended to accelerate the implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) across all public health facilities in Malaysia. This step is part of the government's effort to modernize the national health management system.
With the EMR system, patient health records will be stored entirely digitally. This allows doctors and medical staff to access patient information more quickly, accurately, and securely without needing to rely on traditional paper files.
In addition to improving service efficiency, this digital system is also expected to reduce technical errors in treatment. Patients will also benefit as the registration and referral processes between hospitals or clinics will become smoother.
Overall, this significant investment demonstrates the government's commitment to improving the quality of the national health system. It is hoped that the implementation of this EMR system will provide better services to all Malaysians in the future.
